ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival

Touching down in Nairobi, you’ll be collected from the airport and transferred to the Hennesis Hotel where you’ll enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 2: Masai Mara

You’ll wake up to a delicious breakfast, followed by a short drive via Narok Town to the Maasai Mara National reserve, the land of the Maasai tribe. The proud young warrior-nomads, with their plaited hair, red cloaks, and spears, will surely challenge your curiosity. The 700-square-mile game reserve is an African scene of dreams, with wild animals grazing amid the superb rolling landscape of gentle hills and acacia woodlands. You’ll check into the AA Mara Lodge, where you’ll settle in an enjoy a sumptuous lunch before departing on your first game drive at 4pm.

Day 3: Game Drive or Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride

Enjoy tea, coffee and cookies at your campsite, before setting out for an early morning game drive across the reserve. The most popular viewing time, the land is sure to be peppered with exotic animals, from lions and leopards to impala and warthogs! You’ll enjoy an additional mid-morning and afternoon game drive, while spending the remainder of your free time relaxing in your lodgings and basking by the pool! Alternatively, for an additional cost of just $475 USD, why not take to the skies for a spectacular hot air balloon adventure?! Soar overhead herds of game and picturesque plains to the inner reaches of the Mara, crossing over some of the most inaccessible and undisturbed parts of the land. From a vantage point of up to 500ft, you’ll enjoy a 360-degree bird's-eye view of Africa’s dramatic landscapes and natural splendours. After an incredible flight, descend and tuck into a delicious breakfast, cups of Kenyan coffee and a glass of champagne! Before leaving, the pilot will present you with your balloon flight certificate, and then you'll enjoy a game drive en route back to the camp.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you’ll take a game drive to the outskirts of the national park, driving through rich Kikuyu farmland to the edge of the Rift Valley. Ascending the escarpment, you’ll drive across great valley view points, while spending the afternoon wandering around the unspoilt local towns. Here, you’ll check into Carnelley's Camp.

Day 5: Green Crater Lake

After breakfast, depart for a ‘Kenya Walking Survivor Safari’, taking the down through the town of Naivasha and along the river. Reaching the Green Crater Lake, formed by volcanic activity, you will begin a morning game walk, journeying through an open reserve and getting up close and personal with giraffes, antelopes and a variety of other species. A perfect photo op! After lunch, you’ll enjoy some free time around camp. Why not enjoy a spot of bird-watching, or keep an eye peeled for the black and white Columbus monkey, a known residence of these parts! Kick back at the bar, partake in a game of pool, or why not engage in some optional activities like cycling around the village or boating out onto the lake?

Day 6: Departure

After breakfast, you’ll depart your hotel at 9am and proceed to Nairobi. After lunch, you’ll continue onward to the giraffe centre where you can observe these incredible creatures for a while. You’ll head on over to the Carnivore Restaurant for dinner, tucking into all the meat you can eat, before heading back to the airport and departing home.
